I write often about my love for coffee, but what I do not write about is my love for tea. It all started when I was a teenager, I started watching British television shows. I noticed that they never asked for a cup of Joe, they always asked for a “cuppa” which was tea. I still watch one show from across the pond, Doctor Who to this day. I started to drink the finer tea, Earl Grey tea and I also love English Breakfast tea. I try to get them as often as I can but these teas are expensive, at least $7 a box, if you get the kind for the coffee machine but still $5 with tax if you get the tea bags.
In the last two years, I have also started to really enjoy herbal teas. One herbal tea that I grew up on before watching any British TV show, was chamomile tea. My mother grew it in her garden. She always made it when my siblings and I were sick with a cold or the flu. Some other herbal teas that I enjoy are ginger tea, turmeric tea, and hot cinnamon tea. I have also tried lavender tea for my migraines which soothed it a little bit.
In the fall, my favorite herbal teas or black teas are pumpkin spice tea and apple cider-spiced tea. They are both wonderful and delicious. This is one case in which I am willing to spend up to $15 to get delicious teas.
Now normally when I watch my Doctor Who, I will either make a cup of tea or I will make coffee. Lately, they have been shown on Sundays from New Year’s Day to the end of March every year, which is a nice length of time for the show, and they are an hour long.
On the other hand, my love for coffee started when I was only 15 years old. My grandfather loves coffee and he drinks it black. At that time, I did not like coffee, however my grandpa let me take a little sip of coffee. I took that sip and I was surprised to find that I liked it. From then on, I have always liked coffee. I try to keep it to one or two cups per day at the max. In college, at one point I was at up to four cups a day since I pulled a lot of all-nighters to make sure I studied and got my homework finished.
Coffee and tea certainly help with everything. If I'm sick, there are teas. If I am doing okay, but tired, there is coffee.
